Choose Joy

Joy radiates from a connection with your inner self. We as Christians believe that our inner most being yearns to be deeply connected to Christ. So how can we have joy without the joy giver? Not possible. In our prayer journey today let’s a look at several passages of scripture pertaining to joy. Psalm 16:11 KJV Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence there is fullness of joy; and at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Let’s pray that we be led by the Lord in every area of our lives. Spend time seeking to be in God’s presence each day. Giving thanks for every little detail of our lives is a simplistic way to keep our Heavenly Father on our hearts. How has that been for you this past few days? What have you noticed about your level of joy while thanking God for every detail of your life? Write down your observations for future reference when times get difficult to remind yourself ot the positives in your life.

Let’s look at another scripture pertaining to joy Psalm 28:7 The Passion Translation You are my strength and my shield from every danger. When I fully trust in you, help is on the way. I jump for joy and burst forth with ecstatic, passionate praise! I will sing songs of what you mean to me! I like this version it makes it easy to understand. Knowing we can trust God to be there for us brings us joy.

Nehemiah 8:10 …..The joy of the Lord is your strength. As always never take just a portion of a scripture in order to totally understand it. I only placed part of this one here to give you another example of joy as described in the word of God.

Psalm 51:12 KJV Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. This particular Psalm is a good one to pray when we are seeking to be closer to God sometimes our actions cause us to feel like we have broken that close connection with Christ. Studying and praying the scripture is a great way to remind your spiritual self who you belong to.

Joy is a fruit of the spirit as described in Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Thank you for following me this week I pray these days have encouraged your heart and stirred a desire to give God thanks in every scenario of your life as well as help you to be a more true example of Jesus Christ to those around you.
